Second step for buying a used car is to decide what type of car you would like to purchase. The type of car obviously depends based on your convenience, lifestyle etc. You should also decide the brand, model and year of the car you would like to purchase. Step#03 : View the cars in person

Look for similar car/s that you have just selected in Step#02 in local news papers, dealership locations, websites like eBay, Craigslist, Kijiji etc. Once you find the car’s location, go view the car and get a good idea about the cars. Keep in mind that, going to look for used cars does not necessarily means you are ready to purchase right away.

Take a careful look at all the details of the cars and write down information like made year, model number, mileage, VIN (vehicle identification number) etc. Do not forgot to check the interior of the car as well as tire condition, engine noise and even any small dent, or scratch.

www.automotive.com : This website will give you customer reviews, car safety rating etc. Another amazing feature this website offers is comparisons. You will be able to compare every features of all the cars you select.

www.fueleconomy.gov : This website will give you information like car fuel efficiency, estimated cost of per filling, annual fuel cost etc.

And last but not least most important www.carfax.com : CarFax is a must visited website before you buy a used vehicle. It is just like checking the credit of an individual. This website keeps records of vehicle crash, maintenance records, all owner’s information etc. You will need VIP and around $50 USD to get up to 5 vehicle information.

Step#05 : Buy the car

The last step is of course proceeding with the purchase of your best pick second hand car. Be bold and give them no negotiation choice by showing all the research you just conducted. It is only fair for both parties. Remember, there is no right or wrong price of a used vehicle; it only has an estimated value.

Get local yellow pages or use the internet to log in to yellow pages website in order to search for local car ranting companies and their contact info.

Step#02

Once you select few preferable car renting companies, give them call one by one and request info like office location, car availability, special deals or rate availability, any discount for being a member of a group (AMEX, Aero Plane, AAA etc.) possible discount for partnership with hotels or airlines. You can select a car renting company after comparing and considering all these features.

Step#03

Before you book the car or make the payment make sure you read all of their policies very carefully. This is very important especially if you are travelling to a new location. Car renting policies are very different in different locations just like laws are different in different places.

Choose the location or destination where you would like to pick up and drop off the vehicle. Some companies charges drop-off fees if the drop-off location is different than the pick up location.

Step#04

Finally, pick a car size according to your need and choice. There are many types of car available at a typical renting company; compact size, mid size, 4 by 4, van, truck etc.

You will need a major credit card to reserve or rent a car. If you do not already have insurance, some renting companies will charge you insurance fees for the period.

Changing car battery is easy. Most of us can do it by ourselves and know how to do it. Those who do not know how to change a car battery, this simple tutorial can be very helpful. Usually, a car battery comes with a 60 months warranty. So, keep a track of its lifetime and replace your car battery in time.

Step #1

Turn off your engine, open your car’s hood and look for the battery.  Loosen the black cable connection using a combination wrench, and then completely disconnect the black cable from the battery.

Step#2

Twist and pull up on the end of the cable. Use battery terminal puller if it does not come off easily. This will help damage to your battery cables.

Step#3

Disconnect the red battery cable from the battery using the same method we discussed in step 1

Step#4

Use a combination wrench or socket and ratchet to remove the battery hold-down clamp.

Step#5

Take the battery off from its tray. A car battery is very heavy, so be careful and grab it from the bottom.  If it has a handle, use that instead.

Step#6

Use baking soda mixed water and wired brush to clean the battery rust from its tray and from its hold-down clamps.

Step#7

Clean the battery connector with a wire brush.  Use a battery-cleaning solution to remove the heavy corrosion.

Step#8

Place the new battery in the battery hold tray and secure it with hold-down clamp.  Connect and tighten the battery cables. All the cables should be tight, otherwise you will not able to start your car.
