How to Eat a Pomegranate

I love pomegranates, but at first i had a hard time eating this delicious fruit. Many will avoid eating a pomegranate only because they don’t know how to properly eat one. After reading this short article you’ll get a good hang of it, it’s really not hard.

It does require more effort then peeling an orange, it gets a little messy, but it’s always a delight to eat. Try my simple method and learn how to eat a pomegranate.

Step 1:
Choose a pomegranate and place it onto the cutting board. Grab a sharp knife and cut the top off (the crown). If you aren’t allowed to use a knife, ask an adult to help you out.

Step 2:
Slice the skin of the fruit into segments at about 1 to 2 inches wide. Begin at the top of the fruit and go down till about an inch from the bottom of the fruit.

Step 3:
Place the pomegranate inside a bowl of fresh water and leave it for about 5-10 minutes. Then peel the skin of the fruit in the water, this makes it easy to separate the skin from the fruit. Allow the fruit to sink to the bottom of the bowl and the skin floats at the top of the water.

Step 4:
Gently move the bowl of water in a circular motion, separating the fruit from the left over rind. You can use a strainer to get rid of the water separating the fruit

Step 5:
Eat the fruits and enjoy, or you can squeeze them to make juice!
